  • To resolve any certificate security warning messages you will need to download and install the CSI Root Certificate. You download the CSI Root Certificate in our ITRANS Claims Support Download section.
  • How to install the CSI Root Certificate:

    • Double click on the CSI Root Certificate file.
    • Click on the "Install Certificate..." button.
    • Click on "Next".
    • Make sure the "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate" radio button is selected and click on "Next".
    • Click on "Finish".
    • Click on "Yes" when you see the following warning:

    • Click on "OK" in the import was successful dialog box .
    • Once the computer in question has been rebooted the security warning will not appear when sending claims.

Generic ITRANS Communications Agent (iCA) reinstallation procedure

  • Disclaimer:

    This is a generic set of instructions on how to re-install your ITRANS Communications Agent. Some pieces of practice management software require a more custom setup of the iCA to function properly. It is always recommended that you contact your practice management software vendor to do a re-installation of the iCA. If you have a copy of the iCA already installed it is recommended that you back up the iCA directory (and claims directory if different) to avoid any loss of data.
  • Download the latest version of the iCA in our ITRANS Claims Support Download section.
  • Extract all the files in from the iCA.zip file to your iCA Folder.
  • Copy the following files:

    dartcertificate.dll, dartsecure2.dll,dartsock.dll

    to your "Path to Wherever the your copy of windows is located":\windows\system32 folder.
  • Register the dlls using the following command:

    regsvr32 DartCertificate.dll DartSock.dll DartSecure2.dll

    Thereafter you should receive 3 prompts advising you that the files were registered successfully.
  • Register the iCA dll using the following command:

    regsvr32 "Path to Wherever the ica is located"\iCAControl.dll

    Thereafter you should receive a prompt advising you that the file was registered successfully.
  • Open the iCA.ini.
  • Modify the following line:
    iCADirectory=C:\iCA
    So that it points your iCA directory.
  • Reboot the computer.

How to enable logging for the iCA

  • Close the iCA.
  • Open the iCA.ini file.
  • Modify the following line:
    "Debug=No" to "Debug=ALL"
  • Save the file.
  • Re-launch the iCA.
  • The next time the iCA attempts to send a claim an iCA.log file will be created detailing the transaction.

How to clear the SSL State

  • The following instructions only apply to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. To clear the SSL state on any other version of windows you must reboot the computer.
  • Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  • Click on "Tools".
  • Click on "Internet Options".
  • Click on the "Content" tab.
  • Click on the "Clear SSL State" button.
  • A "The SSL cache was successfully cleared" dialog box will appear.

Firewall details for the iCA

  • To send claims the iCA.exe application will initiate an outbound connection on port 9650 for TCP traffic to site1.continovation.com and site2.contionvation.com.

How to increase your timeouts

  • Make sure the iCA is not running
  • Open the iCA.ini
  • Locate the following lines:

    TimeoutSeconds=20
    TransactionTimeoutSeconds=120
  • Modify to match the following:

    TimeoutSeconds=40
    TransactionTimeoutSeconds=240
  • Save the iCA.ini
  • Re-launch the iCA

How to setup the iCA to run as a service

  • The iCA Toolset now contains a version of the iCA that can be installed
    as a service. This allows for unattended sending of transactions on a
    server or workstation without running an application.

    The iCA service is included with the latest version of the iCA. The latest version of the iCA can be found in the ITRANS Claims Downloads section.
  • In order to install the service, insure the iCA Readme instructions
    have been followed first.
  • Register the "iCAServiceControl.ocx" file by using the following command:

    regsvr32 "Path to Wherever the ica is located"\iCAServiceControl.ocx
  • Add the iCAService as a service by running the following command from within the iCA directory:

    iCAservice /service

    This will add the service into your Windows services list. You can then
    configure the service by selecting iCAService and choosing Properties.
    This can be used to start the service, and set it to start automatically
    when the machine starts up.
  • Please note that most provider certificates are added as a specific user
    into the Windows Security System (Crypto API). The iCAService should be
    configured to run as the same user that was used to add the certificates
    in Internet Explorer.
