ecwebworks Inc. develops application for the Continovation Services Inc. ITRANST system
Burlington, Ontario (October, 2003) - ecwebworks Inc., a web-based exchange and solution provider, today announced it has been selected by Continovation Services Inc.(CSI), to provide the application development for the CSI ITRANST system. ITRANST is a secure Internet-based transmission system, supports electronic healthcare transactions, supplements existing paper and electronic data interchange claims submissions, and other financial transactions.
ITRANST is designed to support healthcare providers and their electronic transactions, supplementing existing paper and electronic data interchange (EDI) claims submissions. In addition to digital transmission and storage of x-rays, optional services include data retention, patient access to claims status, ad hoc reporting and customized edit checks.
ecwebworks is developing the core application that will be hosted by CSI for the ITRANST system. This solution will allow the health care professionals, such as Dentists, to send electronic transactions and messages with Insurance carriers and other health industry vendors. The ITRANST application has features that allow the digital transmission and storage of X-rays and attachments from practitioner to insurance carriers, and General Practitioners to Specialists using scanners or more sophisticated equipment.
The system also provides customized error detection and correction features, with the goal of improving the volume of "first time right" transactions and increasing auto-adjudication of health claims. The web-based Management tools allow for secure viewing and tracking of all transactions, allowing the Insurance carriers and health care professionals to have a better view of their transactional history, while ensuring that the privacy laws are fully respected.

This ITRANST pilot system has been running since July of 2002 and successfully processing live transactions from the dental industry. The initial system has gone through several development phases to improve the functionality of the service to ensure the needs of health care providers, insurance carriers, software vendors, networks and other health industry business needs are met. Based on the success of this pilot, CSI is now preparing to launch the ITRANST system to their customers, and ecwebworks is in the final development stages for the application.
